20 Tips for Bully-Free Schools – Tip #12
Build Better Conflict Skills
Teach kids to disagree with self‐control: stick to the current issue, no name‐calling, yelling, or threats, take responsibility for your mistakes, create a solution agreeable to both parties, learn to give & accept an apology, release a grudge & move forward. Keep the conflict between the original parties. Don’t let it ripple out in a wave of gossip, bad‐mouthing, & side‐taking. Say: “I’m having a conflict with Chandra right now. We’re trying to work it through.”
