Pink Shirt Day began in 2007 when two Grade 12 students, David Shepherd and Travis Price from Berwick, Nova Scotia (near Halifax, Canada), stood up in defense of a Grade 9 boy being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. Their everyday heroism spread like wildfire – through their school, their community, their province, their country, and out to the rest of the world, inspiring an international movement of collaboration and protection for all. Every year since, people around the world remember David and Travis and join the growing movement of kids and adults standing up to say “NO” to bullying.
This year’s International Day Of Pink is April 10, 2013.
